Whiting Library is excited to announce that the Association of Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL) Grant Review Team has selected our application for funding for the ARSL New England Small and Rural Grant. Our $11,400 grant will allow us to expand our tool and seed library and focus on resilient gardening and food production programming. Whiting Library is one of eighteen Vermont libraries awarded funding in this year’s Sustainable and Resilient New England Library Grant Initiative. The competitive grant is made possible through the generosity of the Manton Foundation and is facilitated by the Association for Rural & Small Libraries.

ARSL builds strong communities through professional development and elevating the impact of rural and small libraries. ARSL recognizes the uniqueness of small and rural libraries and is committed to providing an environment that encourages excellence within this community of practice, supporting their service goals and speaking on behalf of this vital constituency.
