On May 4, 2024, Whiting Library is throwing our 5th annual Green Up & Seed Down celebration at the library at 117 Main St. from 10:30 a.m.-12:30pm. Join us and get involved with this much-loved spring clean-up tradition that activates thousands of Vermonters to take care of their communities by picking up roadside litter. Keeping our environment clean is good for our health, good for businesses, and good for our property values. Together we build pride in our cities and towns and teach our youth about powerful civic engagement that affects climate change.
The Whiting Library invites all Green Uppers to visit the Seed Sowing Station on Green Up Day, Saturday, May 4, to sow a variety of seeds to grow this summer.
The Seed Library at Whiting Library provides access to flower, herb, and vegetable seeds and is free and open to all, with or without a library card and is co-sponsored by Mountain Valley Climate Action 350VT and Chester Community Greenhouse and Gardens.
Let’s celebrate Green Up Day together!
This year, Carrie Roy King and the Whiting Library are again co-leaders of the Green Up efforts!
Green Up Bags are available at the Whiting Library, Chester Hardware Store, Erskines, and Chester Town Hall.
The dumpster will be at the Town Garage on May 1.
Stay safe. Wear bright colors, bring a friend, watch out for sharps, be COVID cautious, and do a tick check.
