Start Writing, Keep Writing: A Writing Workshop for Teens at Whiting Library
High school students with an interest in creative writing are invited to attend a Teen Writers Workshop at Whiting Library on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 4:30 p.m.to 5:45 p.m. at 117 Main Street in Chester. This newly formed group of like-minded writers and creative souls invites teens to join this workshop held on the first Wednesday of the month at Whiting Library. Perfect for new writers as well as writers who want to explore multiple genres and work on development of their craft, voice and editorial skills.
A mix of free-writing and sharing, the workshop will develop writing skills and practices in a supportive and welcoming environment. Participants should bring a notebook and a written piece they are currently working on, or planning to start. Teen writers of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry are invited to attend.
“We had a great, first workshop last month, where a nice group of young writers gathered to share their writing and work on new skills. New people are always welcome–no experience necessary, just an interest in creative writing. Don’t be shy–sign up!” said Rosamund Conroy, the workshop instructor. Ms. Conroy is a Whiting Library Trustee, writer and former director of Summer Ink, a youth writing program.
Register on the library’s website, by contacting Carrie King, Youth Librarian, at 875-22477, or emailing whitinglibrary3@gmail.com by 11/30/21 for this free workshop for teens.
