Using The Whiting Library Telescope: Its Basic Functions, and How to Observe Celestial Objects

September 24 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

This presentation will be graphic-rich and hands-on fun. When complete, attendees should be able to confidently operate the Whiting Library Telescope and instruct others how to use it. If the sky cooperates, we’ll do a bit of observing afterward, of course.
Please notify the Library if you’re coming so we know how many chairs (and maybe snacks) to prepare.

Claudio Véliz pursues twin professions in architecture and astronomy. He has owned an award-winning architecture firm – Claudio Véliz Architect PLLC/AIA – since the 1980s. Previously, he worked and lectured at New York’s Hayden Planetarium, at the Astronomy Departments of Columbia University, New York, Castleton University, Vermont, and Keene State College, in New Hampshire.
