Calling writers of all ages, experiences, and genres: Whiting Library now has a registered chapter of Shut Up & Write!
Join fellow writers for an inclusive and informal writing group. Show up, sit down, and get words on the page — no critiques, no sharing your work, no pressure. Just focused time to work on writing surrounded by other writers. Come early or stay late to chat, connect, and build a writing community.
Sessions are held weekly on Friday from 3:30pm to 5pm in the Suzy Forlie Reading Room at the Library. Feel free to bring a laptop, a notebook, or nothing at all! Extra pencils, pens, and paper will be supplied.
We spend 10 minutes socializing and setting goals for the session, then an hour and 10 minutes of silent writing. We end with 10 minutes of chatting and an optional check-in on how your writing process went.
