Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) presenter John Steven Gurney visits the Andover Town Hall for a storytelling event and free book giveaway where each child in attendance selects two brand new books to take home. CLiF’s Summer Readers grant supports summer programs across Vermont and New Hampshire to keep children reading during the school vacation.
John Steven Gurney is the illustrator of more than 140 books for children, including these popular chapter book series: The A to Z Mysteries, The Calendar Mysteries, Palace Puppies, The Bailey School Kids, and Big Apple Barn. He is the author and illustrator of the picture book Dinosaur Train and the graphic novel, Fuzzy Baseball and its sequel Ninja Baseball Blast. John also works as a caricature artist and does illustrations for games and puzzles. He lives in Brattleboro, VT with his wife, and two children. John has shared his experiences and his work with school children in 31 states and 5 countries.
