Our new strategic plan is a dynamic, living document that guides the Whiting Library’s decisions about programming, funding, staffing, facility needs, and other organizational considerations as we advance. It charges library staff to be intentional in all that we do and to think about how the library fits into the communities of Chester and Andover, continually assessing the degree to which core library activities meet the needs of patrons and the broader community.
Creating this strategic plan allowed the library to talk to many community members about the library. It helped us identify areas in which the library is already robust and areas where our services need to be expanded or improved. It will help us budget, prioritize activities, and plan for the future. It provides a clear purpose for the library staff, trustees, and volunteers.
