We’re so excited to announce two new adult programs happening weekly in the Suzy Forlie Reading Room! Starting the week of July 28th, please join us for sessions of Silent Book Club and Shut Up & Write!.

Silent Book Club is a book club with no assigned reading and no pressure. It’s BYOB (bring/borrow your own book) with some time to chat at the beginning and end, and an hour of quiet reading time in the middle. We’ll host two sessions per week at two different time slots to suit different kinds of schedules. All meeting are drop-in, so you can come and go as you please. First up are Tuesdays from 4pm to 5:30pm, with the second sessions on Fridays from 1pm to 2:30pm.

Shut Up & Write! is a writing group with a simple and proven methodology: show up, sit down, and get words on the page. There’s no critiques, no sharing your work, just focused time surrounded by other writers. Feel free to bring a laptop, a notebook, or nothing at all! Extra pencils, pens, and paper will be supplied. The weekly session is held on Fridays from 3:30pm to 5pm.

Silent Book Club and Shut Up & Write!® are both part of global networks, so if you can’t get enough of in-person here, check out their online sessions and see ways to support each organization.
